What's unique about the brand

Atoll Electronique is a French hifi brand that manufactures amplifiers with dual-mono design and discrete components, avoiding integrated circuits for better sound control, with 80% of components sourced locally in France.

What reviewers are saying

We read all the reviews. Here's what reviewers feel most strongly about:

  • Atoll products are hand-made in France. Their products are known for their "Atoll signature," described as a potent sound, insightful, muscular, and a somewhat darker timbre (though this is sometimes defied), with a wide dynamic range and a focus on the overall presentation of the soundstage.

Our favorite reviewer quotes:

  • "The bass range is spectacular, both for its depth and its control. Bass lines, kick drum and organ pedals have a solid presence that makes the DAC300 performance emotionally and physically involving." (https://www.tnt-audio.com/sorgenti/atolldac300e.html)
  • "In this field, the DAC300 displays an analog character, and therefore offers a very unbounded reproduction of the sound message. We can feel it, for example, on the expressiveness of the voices, on its ability to make the cymbals sparkle, with a notion of very pleasant silkiness and a beautiful presence." (https://vumetre.com/en/tests/manufacturer/atoll/atoll-%E2%96%BB-dac300)
  • "Yes, this is the portion of the audio spectrum where the Atoll CD 100 does its best. Powerful, extended and dynamic till its deepest end, the bass is sooo groovy and intriguing." (https://www.tnt-audio.com/sorgenti/atoll-cd100_e.html)

Our interview with the brand

What are two key technological innovations or strong opinions that differ you from other brands?

In our amplifiers we choose to only use discrete component stages with low feedback where many other brands use mainly operational amplifiers that is for us the "tin can food" of electronic.

The other key point is the use of stages without feedback for the current-voltage conversion and for the impedance adaptation stages of our converters.

What's your approach to customer support?

We offer a all round support: We and our dealers answer to any customer question and we also offer a technical support to importers, dealers and final customers each time there is a request. We do most of the after sale in our factory in France and all our importer have also a technical centre we are in close relationship with.

What are your favorite tracks for showcasing the strength of your products?

We use many different tracks of acoustic music: in our short list we use great orchestra classical music, Jazz, rock and singing, From Gustav Mahler to Patricia Barber and from Dominique A to Bojan Z. But the most important is to live with the product, the way the emotion is transmitted is decisive.

What other products pair best with yours?

Speakers we love to pair with our device are: Atohm, Atlantis lab, Pro Ac, Diptyque Audio, Dynaudio, Dali, Sonus Faber, PE Leon, Martin Logan. But there is no restriction in the speakers brand, the only restriction is not to match speakers with very low impedance with amplifiers not adapted.
