What's unique about the brand

Aries Cerat is a hifi brand known for its use of oversized components and TriodeFet technology, which combines tube and solid-state designs to create a distinctive sound signature. Their products, including the Kassandra DAC and Symphonia horn speakers, are built with massive power handling capabilities and carefully selected drivers to deliver a muscular, dynamic sound that rivals top analogue systems.

What reviewers are saying

We read all the reviews. Here's what reviewers feel most strongly about:

  • They employ a "zero feedback power gain stage" in their preamplifiers, utilizing a transformer-coupled super-triode design, which is unusual for tube preamps.
  • Aries Cerat's Inverted Triode Technology departs from the design of traditional vacuum tubes by using an electron stream accelerated towards a wire-grid-like anode, offering performance benefits.
  • Aries Cerat uses Multi-tap input transformers as the attenuation method for volume control, in addition to Nixie-Tube input and volume indicators behind a thick glass front panel.
  • They incorporate user-adjustable bias, allowing listeners to fine-tune the sound to match their system and personal preferences.

Our favorite reviewer quotes:

  • "The Aries Cerat Diana Forte showed itself to be the most "organic" sounding amplifier I have ever heard. I will admit to using the term "organic" because I was floored by what I heard, and at the time I couldn't come up with any other term to best describe this amp's sound." (https://www.enjoythemusic.com/superioraudio/equipment/0417/AriesCeratDianaForteStereoPowerAmplifier_Review.htm)
  • "What I heard was nothing short of transformative, a stark reminder of why I fell in love with this hobby in the first place. It wasn't just about the notes; it was about the spaces in between, the air that vibrated with palpable energy, the sheer emotional depth that the Aries Cerat Genus Integrated Amplifier unlocked in every recording." (https://www.monoandstereo.com/aries-cerat-ianus-essentia-amplifiers-review)
  • "The Genus wasn't just playing music; it was breathing life into it, offering a sonic tapestry so rich and nuanced that I found myself rediscovering albums I thought I knew inside and out. Its soundstage was immense, each instrument occupying its own distinct space, yet harmonizing with breathtaking coherence." (https://www.monoandstereo.com/aries-cerat-ianus-essentia-amplifiers-review)
  • "The Essentia amplifier excelled at emotional connection, smoothness, transparency, dynamics, realism, and low-level ambiance in my system. I found Essentia to be the holy grail of amplifiers as it offers the speed and body of the best transistors in combination with the harmonic and musicality offered by SET triodes." Lineup comparison

We think it's helpful to understand how their products compare. To learn more about each, scroll to the section above to click through to individual product pages.

Prestige Series

  • Positioning: The entry-level lineup offering high-quality audio performance with accessible designs.
  • Description: Delivers impressive sound quality through carefully engineered components. While it provides a solid foundation, it lacks the advanced technologies found in the higher-tier Reference and Signature Series, resulting in comparatively less refined audio reproduction.

Reference Series

  • Positioning: Mid-tier products that introduce enhanced features and performance over the Prestige Series.
  • Description: Incorporates improved circuit designs and higher-grade materials, offering a more detailed and dynamic listening experience. However, it doesn't include the proprietary Inverted Triode technology present in the Signature Series, which limits its ability to deliver the same level of sonic purity and realism.

Signature Series

  • Positioning: High-end products featuring Aries Cerat's proprietary technologies for superior audio fidelity.
  • Description: Stands out with the implementation of the unique Inverted Triode technology, providing exceptional linearity and low distortion. This results in a more natural and immersive sound compared to the Reference Series.

Limited Edition Series

  • Positioning: The flagship lineup representing the highest level of craftsmanship and audio performance.
  • Description: Features top-of-the-line components and exclusive designs, such as the dual-chassis configuration for improved isolation and power supply integrity. This meticulous engineering surpasses the capabilities of the Signature Series, delivering extraordinary soundstage and detail retrieval.

About the brand

VinylSavor stands out for its unique use of transformer coupling and transformer volume control in preamps, along with vacuum tube rectified high voltage supplies and low impedance circuits. The brand's equipment, personally built and tested by Thomas Mayer, is engineered with custom-made transformers and multiple chokes for excellent power supply performance, eliminating the need for expensive power conditioners or exotic cables.

Our interview with the brand

What are two key technological innovations or strong opinions that differ you from other brands?

Fully transformer coupled designs. The use of directly heated triodes not only as output tube but also as drive rand preamp tube. 600 Ohm LCR RIAA EQ in phono stages. Custom triodes for the Intrepid series (Thomas Mayer ONE, TWO and THREE). Possibility to customise each product to specific needs.

What's your approach to customer support?

I sell directly to end customers. I used to have very few resellers but due to the steep increase of production and material costs I exclusive do direct sales now to avoid price increases of the products which would otherwise be necessary. My goal is that every customer is happy and I am always available for any questions even years after the sale. When necessary I do repairs or assist in set up at the customer site.

What are your favorite tracks for showcasing the strength of your products?

I don’t have any favourite tracks, but use whatever I am in the mood for. Equipment should not be designed to work with specific music. People should use music they like for testing

What other products pair best with yours?

Admire Audio speakers.
