What's unique about the brand

Music Hall's turntables feature a unique dual-plinth or triple-plinth construction that isolates critical sound components from the motor, enhancing clarity and reducing interference. The brand's HA25.3 headphone amplifier combines tube warmth with solid-state precision and doubles as a standalone tube pre-amp, offering versatility uncommon in similar products.

What reviewers are saying

We read all the reviews. Here's what reviewers feel most strongly about:

  • The brand's turntables frequently feature a dual-plinth design with Sorbothane hemispheres for vibration damping, enhancing sonic clarity by isolating the platter and tonearm.
  • Music Hall offers models with built-in phono preamplifiers, providing flexibility for use with various audio systems and allowing for future upgrades with external phono stages.
  • They are known for incorporating user-friendly features like adjustable VTA (Vertical Tracking Angle) which lets listeners optimize stylus alignment for different record thicknesses.

Our favorite reviewer quotes:

  • "When we tested the Music Hall MMF 7.3, we were completely astounded that it could play the warm and rich sound without using an amplifier. The superb sound is projected with just the Ortofon bronze cartridge." (https://usbturntable.net/the-complete-review-of-the-music-hall-mmf-7-3-turntable)
  • "At the highs, you could hear the clear vibrato notes vibrating through the air. For the low, you could experience the deep resonating notes that will form a surround sound in your room itself." (https://usbturntable.net/the-complete-review-of-the-music-hall-mmf-7-3-turntable)
  • "I'm delighted to report the music pulled from the grooves with the Stealth was presented with absolutely silent backgrounds and no extraneous noises, save for the occasional click or pop from the record itself. The dark, melancholic tone of Winged Victory For The Sullen's 2014 release Atomos [Kranky Krank 190] was never more ominous as heard played back on the Stealth." (https://www.theaudiobeat.com/equipment/musichallstealth.htm)
  • "When you sit in your listening chair spinning LPs on the 9.3 and assuming the rest of the system is up to the task, you would swear that you were listening to some big rig table that cost more than you thought you could either afford or be willing to spend on a table. The 9.3 throws a huge soundstage which is tall, deep, and wide." (https://positive-feedback.com/reviews/hardware-reviews/music-hall-mmf-9-3-turntable)

Our interview with the brand

What are two key technological innovations or strong opinions that differ you from other brands?

Pro-Ject Audio Systems was founded with a passion for analog audio reproduction. Our very first product, introduced in 1991, was a record player – a time when the entire industry was turning its back on vinyl. We didn’t jump on the bandwagon when vinyl became hip – we were instrumental in bringing vinyl back.

We manufacture – not only assemble – 95% of our products in the EU. Raw materials come in – finished products leave the factories. Since we make everything ourselves, we are able offer a 25 year spare part availability!

Today, we offer one of the broadest ranges of high-fidelity products in the world, including turntables, CD players, DACs, streamers, phono preamps, amplifiers, speakers, and a variety of accessories designed to enhance your system and vinyl care.

What's your approach to customer support?

Pro-Ject Audio Systems has a worldwide network of dealers and distributors. We ensure that our team members are highly knowledgeable in the field of high-fidelity audio setup and repairs. In the event of a need for support, the first point of contact is the local dealer. If the dealer cannot handle the problem, the second tier is the distributor in the respective country. By handling as many problems as possible locally, we can ensure the quickest and smoothest resolution.

What are your favorite tracks for showcasing the strength of your products?

Aside from one of the audio industry’s widest range of high-fidelity products, Pro-Ject also produces limited runs of high-quality vinyl records. 7Ray’s Jazzy Zoetrope is a double album of fine Jazz standards played by 7Ray and his quartet. One of the two records was recorded live at our headquarters in the Weinviertel region of Lower Austria. We produced the whole album in AAA for the highest analog purity. Here’s a link to the records we offer, which double as fine reference recordings across multiple musical genres.

About the brand

Founded in 1907, Dual pioneered the Dual-Motor system combining spring-loaded clockwork and electric motors, and today their high-quality turntables are still manufactured in Germany's Black Forest town of St. Georgen using traditional production lines. The brand maintains a unique structure with Dual Phono GmbH producing German-made turntables while Dual DGC GmbH focuses on more affordable Asian-made electronics, making their CS range of turntables particularly popular among audiophiles seeking quality at reasonable prices.

About the brand

Rega is a British hifi brand known for its minimalist, low-mass turntable designs that challenge the industry's typical heavy-mass approach to reducing vibration. Their hand-assembled turntables and tonearms use advanced materials like graphene-infused carbon fiber and feature slim yet rigid plinths with striking glass platters, reflecting founder Roy Gandy's unique engineering perspective on how components affect

About the brand

VPI is known for its high-end, American-made turntables. They stand out for their use of 3D printing in tonearm design, creating one-piece structures that enhance sound quality, and their unique unipivot tonearm design that balances on a single point for precise sound reproduction.

Our interview with the brand

What are two key technological innovations or strong opinions that differ you from other brands?

Technologically, two standout innovations set VPI apart:

Our use of 3D printing technology and our proprietary 3-phase BLD motor and processing system. The 3D-printed tonearms represent a major leap forward in precision, damping, and performance—offering sonic benefits that traditional manufacturing struggles to match. Our 3-phase motor system, paired with advanced control processing, delivers superior speed stability and vibration isolation. Both are significant engineering achievements in turntable design and performance.

From a broader philosophy, what truly differentiates us is our identity—we're a family-owned company, still run by the original family, now heading into a third generation. Every table is made in America, built by a small but dedicated team, and reflects a hands-on, personal commitment to craftsmanship and legacy that's hard to find today.

What's your approach to customer support?

We always recommend that customers first reach out to their original retailer—dealer or distributor—as they are often the quickest path to help. However, if the dealer is unavailable or the issue goes beyond their scope, we're absolutely here and ready to jump in.

Customers can contact us directly by email or phone, and we do our best to respond as quickly as possible. What sets us apart is our commitment to hands-on support—if needed, we'll FaceTime or Zoom with customers to walk them through setup, troubleshooting, or fine-tuning. We've even invited customers to the factory when they're nearby. We take support personally because we take our customers personally—when you buy a VPI, you're part of the family.

What are your favorite tracks for showcasing the strength of your products?

  1. Take Five – Dave Brubeck: The rhythm, the horn work, and the overall layering make this an ideal track for evaluating instrumental balance and clarity. Personally, it holds a special place—it was a favorite of mine and my wife back when we were dating, and my father, Harry Weisfeld (VPI's founder), used it to teach me about soundstage and timing. It's both a sentimental and technical go-to.
  2. Dr. Ackbar – Bob and Ray's Stereo Spectacular: This is a wild, lesser-known gem. It's a spoken-word journey through a castle/laboratory that plays with spatial cues and stereo effects in a way that's perfect for system testing. When your setup is dialed in, you should feel like you're physically in the space—with voices and effects coming from pinpoint locations around you.
  3. 64 Dodge – Greg Brown: This track gives me everything I need when checking a system—vocals, guitar tone, and fine detail. I grew up listening to it, so I know exactly how it should sound. When something's off, I can hear it immediately; when it's right, this track just sings.

What other products pair best with yours?

Tough to pick just one, but Nordost cables are often paired with VPI by both customers and retail partners—and for good reason. The synergy between Nordost and our turntables brings out incredible detail and clarity. That said, two standout system pairings we've seen a lot this past year include:

System 1:

  • VPI Industries
  • VAC Amplifiers
  • Acora Speakers
  • Cardas Cables

System 2:

  • VPI Industries
  • Audio Research
  • Wilson Audio
  • Nordost Cables

Each of these combinations delivers a beautiful blend of musicality, precision, and dynamic range—exactly what analog lovers are chasing.
