Basel Acoustics is a Swiss loudspeaker maker based in Zürich. It was started by Piotr Misiewicz, formerly CEO of Boenicke Audio, and Sven Boenicke designed the construction of its first loudspeaker. Every driver is mounted on a floating suspension, and the cabinets are made from solid three-layer wood, then sanded and oiled by hand. The company holds that solid wood gives the most faithful tone for instruments and voices. Buyers choose the cabinet in ash, oak, cherry or American walnut, and the company also lists electronics and cables.
