What's unique about the brand

EgglestonWorks is a Memphis-based speaker manufacturer that uses granite and aluminum in their cabinets to minimize resonance, and employs a physicist to refine their designs for both measured and audible performance. Their speakers, which are found in professional recording studios like Gateway Mastering, feature unique design elements like transmission line loading for midrange drivers and isobaric woofer configurations for deep bass without large cabinets.

What reviewers are saying

We read all the reviews. Here's what reviewers feel most strongly about:

  • The brand's speakers are known for their automotive paint finishes, offering a wide range of standard and custom colors.
  • EgglestonWorks speakers, while meticulously engineered, are often described as having a slightly forward presentation, creating an engaging and lively listening experience.
  • Many models incorporate trickle-down technology from the company's flagship speakers, bringing high-end design elements to more accessible price points.
  • EgglestonWorks prides itself on its American manufacturing, sourcing most components for its speakers within a short radius of its Memphis factory.

Our favorite reviewer quotes:

  • "The EgglestonWorks Emma Evo has perhaps the most lucid, limpid and insightful presentation of any loudspeaker at its price that I've yet heard. Time and again I found myself marvelling at the sheer depth of field this loudspeaker could reproduce." (https://hifiplus.com/articles/egglestonworks-emma-evo-floorstanding-loudspeaker/#:~:text=The%20EgglestonWorks%20Emma%20Evo%20has,field%20this%20loudspeaker%20could%20reproduce.)
  • "The EgglestonWorks Viginti's webpage says: "no lack of authoritative, effortless and pitch-perfect bass." They're not kidding." (https://www.stereophile.com/content/egglestonworks-viginti-loudspeaker)
  • "The Emmas are strong on reverb and leading edges, so echo and decay are well defined alongside the minutiae of detail that coalesce to form believable imaging." (https://the-ear.net/review-hardware/egglestonworks-emma-evolution-floorstanding-loudspeakers)

About the brand

With roots in acoustic consultancy, FinkTeam applies advanced measurement techniques and custom crossover designs, featured prominently in their Borg and KIM speakers, to achieve precise soundstage imaging and low coloration. Their standout models, such as the Borg, feature carefully tuned passive radiators for seamless bass response.

Our interview with the brand

What are two key technological innovations or strong opinions that differ you from other brands?

We are working hard to reduce the negative influence of cabinet vibrations, but without the sledgehammer method. We have our own drive unit development team and our own woodshop to make cabinets, operated by a master carpenter. We are basically an engineering team with a lot of measurement equipment, working for the big industry, making the FinkTeam speaker because we can  and because this is our passion.

What's your approach to customer support?

Customers can contact us or the distributor, so we can find the best way to sort out problems. As a small company, we don’t need complicated formal procedures.

What are your favorite tracks for showcasing the strength of your products?

That’s a difficult one, as some tracks are what we call "limit tracks“ to find the balance of the speakers. But we have a few we like:

Toto, I will remember, Beyoncé, Blackbird, Malia & Blank, Magnetic Lies, Brina Bromberg, elephants on ice skates, John Lee Hooker with Van Morrison, The Waterfront.

What other products pair best with yours?

We like electronic from Soulnote, Japan and tube electronics from CANOR in Slovakia. Internally, we also use SPL Pro equipment and MATRIX for streamers.
