What's unique about the brand

Critical Mass Systems takes a unique approach to vibration control by filtering rather than isolating vibrations, using principles from thermodynamics and proprietary materials to manage energy flow through audio components. Their signature products include the Center Stage footers, which drain excess vibrational energy and convert it to heat, and racks with Dual Zone Damping Systems that help audio components sound more life-like.

MXK SPIKES & CUPS

  • Positioning: A budget-friendly accessory designed to support amplifier components without high-end extras.
  • Description: Offers a simple set of four spikes with cups and a load capacity of 250 lbs, providing straightforward support and vibration reduction at a low cost. Compared to the other products, it delivers basic functionality without the advanced damping and adjustability seen in the higher-tier lines, making it ideal for tight budgets and simple applications.

CENTER STAGE 2M

  • Positioning: A mid-range enhancement that builds on proven technology from previous models for improved audio component support.
  • Description: Uses a carefully sequenced material design and added damping to reduce vibration, offering a technical leap over entry-level solutions like the MXK Spikes & Cups. Compared to the LS series, it sacrifices some fine-tuning adjustments while still providing a clear upgrade over budget options.

CENTER STAGE LS 2.25

  • Positioning: A mid-tier loudspeaker accessory engineered for effective resonance mitigation in speaker setups.
  • Description: Introduces a novel design with a rounded contact point and fine height adjustment for improved alignment and reduced cabinet vibration. Compared to the 2M series, it offers more precise resonance control but does not reach the advanced features of the Ultra series.

CENTER STAGE ULTRA TD

  • Positioning: A premium product aimed at stabilizing electronic components through advanced damping focused on thermal and vibration control.
  • Description: Features over 30 finely tuned damping touch points and a compact design to minimize vibration and improve sound staging specifically for electronics. Compared to the lower-tier LS and 2M series, it delivers more targeted performance improvements for dedicated electronic setups, though it is less adjustable than the Ultra TT.

CENTER STAGE ULTRA TT

  • Positioning: A flagship solution crafted for both electronic components and loudspeakers, featuring height adjustability for optimal performance.
  • Description: Offers precise, height-adjustable damping with more than 30 touch points that enhance clarity, depth, and image definition by reducing unwanted vibrations. Compared to the Ultra TD and other models, it provides the most advanced control and flexibility in the lineup.

About the brand

IsoAcoustics specializes in vibration isolation technology that decouples speakers and audio components from their supporting surfaces, using patented designs that manage energy and minimize unwanted vibrations. Their product range, including the GAIA and OREA series, is particularly valued in home studios for reducing internal reflections and improving soundstage clarity, with many users reporting enhanced bass control and more life-like sound reproduction.

Our interview with the brand

What are two key technological innovations or strong opinions that differ you from other brands?

We take a fundamentally different approach to isolation than many traditional solutions. For decades, spikes were the industry norm, based on the idea of coupling the speaker directly to the floor. But in practice, this creates a rigid path that allows energy to reflect and resonate, leading to a loss of clarity.

Our patented isolation technology changes that. One of the biggest differences is how the energy travels—or more specifically, how we manage it. With some isolation feet, the metal housing itself contacts the floor, allowing vibrations to pass through regardless of what’s inside of the housing. The IsoAcoustics design is different: only the lower isolator makes contact with the supporting surface. The internal isolators are carefully tuned for the speaker’s weight, and the upper section connects directly to the speaker or component. This design forms a controlled energy path where internal reflections are minimized and vibrations are decoupled in both directions.

The result isn’t just reduced vibration, it’s greater spatial clarity, openness in the soundstage, and tighter low-end definition. We’ve also proven the performance through testing at the National Research Council (NRC) in Canada and through extensive blind listening tests.

We also believe strongly in the importance of directionality and alignment. Our products are designed to perform best when properly oriented, aligning with the energy of the loudspeaker. That attention to detail is a key part of what sets IsoAcoustics apart.

What's your approach to customer support?

At IsoAcoustics, customer support is a top priority and something we take a great deal of pride in. Whether you're a first-time buyer, a long-time user, or just curious about compatibility, we want the experience to be as smooth and helpful as possible. Customers are welcome to reach out to their local dealer or distributor for support, but they’re also encouraged to contact us directly at [email protected].

We typically respond within 24 hours, and our team is happy to answer questions ranging from product selection and installation to more technical inquiries. If a customer encounters an issue with one of our products, we see it as an opportunity to help, not just to resolve a concern but to gain feedback that could inform future improvements. We go above and beyond by offering hands-on assistance with compatibility questions (even digging into specific speaker or component models and configurations), sending replacement parts quickly when needed, and making sure each customer gets the full benefit of our technology. Our goal is not just to solve problems but to create a great experience.

What are your favorite tracks for showcasing the strength of your products?

Fields of Gold” – Sting

This track is a beautiful example of musical subtlety. The warmth of Sting’s voice and the gentle acoustic instrumentation can easily become clouded by resonance or vibration. With IsoAcoustics isolation in place, listeners notice a remarkable improvement in vocal clarity and instrument separation, with each element more precisely placed in the soundstage. The acoustic guitar becomes crisper and the background more spacious—making the song feel more intimate and emotionally resonant.

Birds” – Dominique Fils-Aimé

This stunning vocal track is rich in tone and atmosphere. Dominique’s voice floats effortlessly over minimal instrumentation, making it an excellent piece to highlight the way IsoAcoustics products control internal reflections and remove smear. You’ll hear greater definition in her breath and phrasing, and a deeper sense of space between the layers of sound. It’s the kind of performance that truly shines with enhanced transparency.

No Moon at All” – Diana Krall

A jazz standard with a sultry, live-in-the-room feel, this track is perfect for showcasing how our isolators elevate microdynamics and timing. With IsoAcoustics in the system, Diana Krall’s piano notes sound more articulate, her vocals are more natural and lifelike, and the subtle swing of the rhythm section becomes tighter and more engaging. The result is a listening experience that feels closer to a front-row seat in an intimate jazz club.
