Bergmann Audio is a Danish maker of air-bearing turntables and linear tracking air-bearing tonearms, based in Hobro. Johnnie Bergmann designs every part, and each turntable and arm is developed, produced and assembled in the company's own workshop. The platter rides on air instead of a conventional bearing, which the company says removes mechanical friction and noise. The linear tracking tonearm moves straight across the record, keeping the stylus aligned with the groove. A vacuum hold-down system pulls each record flat against the platter, and every model takes its name from Norse mythology.
