What's unique about the brand

DeVore Fidelity handcrafts speakers in Brooklyn using natural materials like paper cones and silk dome tweeters, with designs that emphasize high sensitivity for optimal performance with low-powered tube amplifiers. Their signature Orangutan series features wide baffle designs that enhance efficiency and sound dispersion, delivering a rich, full-bodied sound that tube amplifier enthusiasts particularly appreciate.

What reviewers are saying

We read all the reviews. Here's what reviewers feel most strongly about:

  • DeVORE FIDELITY speakers are specifically designed to pair well with low-powered tube amplifiers, emphasizing ease of drive and a forgiving impedance curve.
  • The brand's speakers are frequently described as producing a "musical" or "emotionally involving" sound, prioritizing a connection to the performance over purely analytical detail.
  • They often employ a wide-baffle design, a conscious choice to enhance sound projection and create a more coherent and visceral soundstage.
  • DeVORE FIDELITY stresses the use of high-quality, carefully selected materials and hand-built construction, with close attention to cabinet resonance tuning for a natural and balanced sound.

Our favorite reviewer quotes:

  • "This, the DeVore unravels effortlessly, with nuance, harmonic texture, and without artifice or fatigue, easily delineating the various instruments from one another in the X, Y and Z axis of the sound stage. It does this while removing itself from the equation: all you are aware of hearing is the recording, not the box freeing the analog signal from its hifi confines." (https://www.resistormag.com/reviews/reviews-review-devore-fidelity-gibbon-x-loudspeakers)
  • "More than most speakers I've had the pleasure to spend time with, the O/96 offer a direct connection to the humanness of the music being made, those aspects of music's communicative powers that exist beyond an accumulation of sounds, every single time I sit in front of them. For years on end, without fail." (https://twitteringmachines.com/review-devore-fidelity-o-96-loudspeakers)
  • "In my show report, I summed it up as follows: This was the best sounding system I listened to all day. It had thunderous yet articulate bass, silky smooth mids, and crystal clear highs." (https://hometheaterhifi.com/reviews/speaker/floor-standing/devore-fidelity-gibbon-super-nine-speaker-review)
  • "Is the DeVore Fidelity O/96 one of the best, if not THE best I have heard in my listening quarters? Yes. Why? Realistic tonality partnered perfectly with almost spiritual transparency." (https://pt.audio/2024/11/03/a-few-more-thoughts-on-the-devore-fidelity-o-96)
  • "The DeVores play music with more tonal color and with more visceral power than any speakers on the list." (https://www.dagogo.com/devore-fidelity-orangutan-o96-loudspeaker-review-part-3)
  • "These speakers are capable of creating an enormous, and very deep sound stage, with lightning-fast transients and huge dynamic swings handled with ease. They quickly pressurized my (approximately) 14′ x 26′ room, and consistently reproduced recordings with instruments and vocals of life-like dimensions." (https://pt.audio/2016/02/13/review-devore-fidelity-o96-loudspeakers)
  • "The O/Baby Speakers have a raw liveliness to them that is absolutely intoxicating. They are also very articulate speakers, and the voices were very realistic and easy to understand." (https://theaudiobeatnik.com/devore-fidelity-orangutan-o-baby-speakers-review)

About the brand

Sonner Audio's speakers use a distinctive curvilinear monocoque structure with a leather front baffle, designed to reduce internal standing waves and release sound energy quickly without distortion. Their time-aligned cabinet design and flat impedance crossover allow the speakers to work well with lower-powered amplifiers while creating an enormous soundstage that seems larger than their physical size would suggest.

About the brand

PIEGA is a hifi speaker brand that uses aluminum cabinets and Air Motion Transformer tweeters to achieve better sound quality than traditional speaker designs. The brand is known for making compact speakers that perform like much larger ones, with their TMicro 40 model reaching deep bass notes down to 50Hz despite its small size.

Our interview with the brand

What are two key technological innovations or strong opinions that differ you from other brands?

Our ribbon tweeters, especially the coaxial versions used in our Coax and Master Line models, deliver exceptional resolution and spatial imaging. What’s particularly noteworthy is that we have been developing these tweeters entirely in-house for over 40 years – and we still manufacture them by hand at our facility in Horgen, Switzerland. The quality is, in our view, outstanding – not only acoustically, but also in terms of technical precision and minimal unit-to-unit variance.

Our aluminum enclosures, combined with internal damping and sandwich construction, ensure distortion-free performance – even at high volumes – and are a unique feature both acoustically and visually.

What's your approach to customer support?

We generally recommend that customers first reach out to their dealer or national distributor for any questions or issues. These partners are trained and authorized to assist quickly and effectively. In more complex cases – or when customers contact us directly – we are, of course, committed to providing personal and dedicated support.

Additionally, we regularly invite customers to visit our headquarters in Horgen. During these visits – which include a tour of our production and personal consultation – very close relationships have developed, and in some cases, even real friendships have formed. We take pride in maintaining close and reliable contact, even after the purchase.

What are your favorite tracks for showcasing the strength of your products?

  • “Queen Mary” – Francine Thirteen: For dynamics and tight bass, excellent at high volume.
  • “Liberty” – Anette Askvik: For atmospheric depth and spaciousness.
  • “The Headless Horseman” – Bobby Bass: Great for vocals and evaluating seamless transitions between multi-way drivers.

What other products pair best with yours?

We experience excellent synergy with HiFi Rose electronics – both sonically and aesthetically. Setups with T+A or Cambridge Audio also pair beautifully with our speakers. And of course, there are no limits at the high end: just recently, I heard a large Burmester and McIntosh system driving our Coax 811 at a dealer – the result was absolutely stunning.
