- Superb mid-range focus and clarity, even to a standard that some three-way models fail to achieve, making it ideal for critical mixing and evaluation as one can really hear into the depths of a mix without straining, even at low listening levels
- An effortless ability to reveal subtle details within the mix, especially noticeable in the reverb tails and in dynamics processing
- Broad, precise and stable stereo imaging with a wide, expansive sound stage and considerable depth, but also precisely narrow and focused central sounds
- Plenty of power, as it has onboard Class D amplification that provides 500W for the woofer and 150W for the tweeter
- Accurate and effortless natural tone
Product Considerations
- System noise was higher than some other monitors when operating at a similar SPL, but it was inaudible to all intents and purposes when sat more than a metre away
- More suited to medium rooms but perhaps not bedroom studios, as their physical size and volume capabilities will be overdoing it for most hobbyist set-ups
- Firmware updates may be difficult on some Windows 7 machines
- Although there are manual options than most speakers, including two important Position switches, more and more studio monitors are coming with some type of room correction feature
