About the brand

Infigo Audio is a Canadian maker of Class A amplifiers, founded by Hans Looman. His design was shown for years as the Projecta before it launched under the Infigo name. Infigo designs and builds in Canada, sourcing materials in British Columbia where possible. The heatsinks are sunk into the chassis, with curved fins shaped to the golden ratio to avoid resonance. The Method 6 is a stereo version of the Method 3 Class A monoblock, so one chassis drives both speakers. The range also includes a DAC, a preamplifier, a streamer and Sparkle Series cables.

About the brand

Naim's idea is one streaming platform shared from the entry-level Uniti Atom up to the flagship ND 555 player. The British company, founded in 1973, designs many components to be upgraded later, for example by adding an external power supply instead of replacing the unit. Oversized, lit volume knobs are a design signature across several lines. The Uniti Atom suits a small room or a second system, the Uniti Star adds CD playback and ripping, and the Mu-so 2nd Generation is on our Best Wireless Speakers list.

About the brand

Rotel's idea is that the power supply comes first, so it winds its own toroidal transformers in its own factory, each one specified for a single model. The Japanese company was founded by Tomoki Tachikawa, and its engineers listen to every design through to production. Products stay in the range for years and are replaced only for a real performance gain. Many of its amplifiers include a moving magnet phono stage, so a turntable plugs straight in, and the S14 adds streaming. The Michi line includes the X5 Series 2 integrated amplifier.

About the brand

Audio Note (UK) is a British maker of tube amplifiers, DACs and complete systems that builds almost everything in-house at its own factories, down to its own transformers and foil capacitors. Many of its amplifiers are single-ended directly heated triode designs with tube rectification, and its DACs run with no oversampling or digital filtering, the entry model still on the Philips TDA1543 chip. Models stay in the catalog for decades, and the OTO PP integrated of 1991 is still in production.

About the brand

Densen is a Danish amplifier maker, founded in 1992, that builds integrated amplifiers, preamplifiers and power amplifiers. Its power amplifiers and preamplifiers work without feedback, and the preamplifiers use class A output stages. Upgradeability is part of the design. The integrated amplifiers can be extended through the DenLink system, and the preamplifiers have internal slots for surround processors, phono stages and multi-room support, so an owner can add functions to the same box over time. Current models include the B-100, B-200, B-420XS and B-440XS.

About the brand

Kinki Studio is an amplifier maker whose designs are direct-coupled, with no capacitors in the signal path. Some models set volume with microprocessor-controlled relay R2R stepped attenuators, and the power supplies are oversized, often with several toroidal transformers for power delivery and channel separation. The EX-M1 integrated amplifier is a dual mono, modular design with 215 watts per channel and a high damping factor. The EX-M7 stereo power amplifier uses two encapsulated 400VA transformers and suits large rooms and demanding loudspeakers.
