Best Luxury Tower Setup

I own this system. I bought it after listening to dozens of systems at local hifi dealers. This is my main system that also doubles as my home theater setup when paired with Audiovector QR SE surrounds and KEF concentric ceiling speakers.

Welcome

Upgrading your audio system introduces two clear benefits: the sound spreads out more naturally rather than coming from a single, confined spot, and your listening experience becomes so immersive that you can simply close your eyes and let the music take over.

For me, the ultimate standard in sound quality is represented by the Audiovector R6 Arreté (around $33K)—the very speakers that ignited my passion for high‑fidelity sound.

While it’s true that spending extra on speakers typically leads to better clarity and lower background noise, those gains alone seldom justify the high cost. What sets the R6 Arreté apart is its ability to deliver an even richer, smoother sonic experience.

In my view, this model is the only one that truly captures the almost magical audio immersion—though, of course, personal preference plays a big role. It’s no surprise that critics have showered these speakers with praise, and many top European hi‑fi retailers even showcase them as their flagship system.

What makes the Audiovector R6 Arreté special? For starters, their treble is exceptionally smooth and non‑fatiguing while still retaining incredible detail and presence. Instead of overwhelming you with harshness, the sound gently embraces you.

The bass performance is equally impressive—large, precise, and remarkably clean. Thanks to a dual‑mounted isobaric woofer design, these speakers produce bass that far exceeds expectations given their size, effectively doubling the sound pressure through clever acoustic engineering.

Additionally, and this is arguably the most important point, the soundstage is among the most expansive I’ve encountered (aside from certain omnidirectional designs). This effect is achieved with an open‑back design and a rear‑firing driver that extends the listening space right up to your shoulders.

In short, the Audiovector R6 Arreté offer one of the clearest, most engaging, and immersive listening experiences available—only surpassed by its more expensive counterpart, the R8. The technical details behind their performance are genuinely fascinating.

Reviews
The R 6 models are dynamic, delicate, emotionally revealing and natural sounding speakers with great attention to detail. A rock solid and easy driven speaker that brings together impressive performance with luxury and refinement.
Audiovector, a Danish speaker brand, stands out for the founder’s relentless rethinking of every component in their designs. Their use of unique materials, innovative technologies, and unconventional theories on sound results in speakers that genuinely sound distinct—especially in the R series. The flagship models in this series are known for creating exceptional soundstage depth, the kind you’d typically expect from dipole speakers, not cone-driver designs. Audiovector also focuses on minimizing harsh treble, ensuring smooth, fatigue-free vocals. Their speakers consistently receive high praise from reviewers and often win best-of-the-year awards.

  • It has a surefooted rhythmic drive and expressive dynamics
  • Bass performance is characterized by grip and agility
  • Build quality is fine, with a classy finish
  • Detail levels are terrific, revealing layers of texture and nuances

Product Considerations

  • The optional 'Freedom' cable to connect to the earth in the mains supply is expensive

  • It shines brighter when fed by quality amplification
  • A stable foundation is recommended, and avoiding too powerful amplifiers

Comparisons (according to reviewers)

  • Vs Audiovector SR6 Avantgarde Arreté, the R6 Arreté has a cleaner and more resolved treble, larger and deeper soundstage, and tighter, more potent bass
  • Vs Audiovector SR3 Arreté, the R6 Arreté is more powerful and deeper in the bass, but the R3 Arreté has better-balanced bass and a more cohesive sound

The AGD Vivace Monoblock is the most advanced Hi-End Power Amplifier in the market. First to use the unique GaNTube™ technology with Gallium Nitride Power-Stage integrated in a Vacuum Tube.
AGD Productions uses GaN (Gallium Nitride) technology in their amplifiers, which are housed in glass tubes reminiscent of classic vacuum tubes, delivering high power from a compact size with near-perfect square waves. The amplifiers are designed to be upgradeable as technology advances, with GaN modules that can be replaced, while handling complex impedance loads similar to high-end Class-A or SET tube amps.

What reviewers think

Product Strengths

  • Elegant design with a beveled, tinted, and engraved acrylic cover, illuminated by orange LEDs, making it visually appealing and demands to be put on display
  • The Gallium Nitride power MOSFETS in the Class D power stage encased in the GaNTub have a very high slew rate with little overhang ripple, with extremely fast switching and immediate note attack
  • The GaNTube™ modules are replaceable, offering modularity and a future upgrade path with more powerful versions or different types
  • Dynamics approach those of live music due to low noise floor and wide dynamic range
  • Inner detail, tonal color, and microdynamics excel

Product Considerations

  • The vulnerability of the GaNTube—exposed and waiting to be smashed or knocked over
  • The 'tube' is pure decoration
  • Music with the Audion monoblocks is lighter weight
  • Some may see the design as quirky

Comparisons (according to reviewers)

  • Vs AGD Audion: The Vivace has a larger power supply and greater power output, leading to musicians seeming more firmly anchored, a greater sense of physicality, and more prominent venue atmosphere compared to the Audion
  • Vs Kinki Studio EX-M1: The Vivace sounded less thick, faster, more insightful, shinier, and smoother, plus it was more mechanical in top FR and had its upper bass a bit boosted to score lower notes on overall clarity and pronunciation
  • Vs Trilogy 925: The Vivace was speedier, more open, effortless, sunnier, articulate, tonally more even, and texturally less juicy in favour of greater complexion

Takeaway: The AGD Productions Vivace is an amplifier with superb sound and elegant design. With its unique GaNTube technology, it delivers a captivating musical experience that should make its owners proud.
