Indeed behind the usual original design the new Logos MKII hide the introduction of a series of new solutions some thinked in order to further enhance the sound of the amplifier and others to meet the demand for versatility and practicality that a demanding clientele pretends that is also present in a high-end device.
Care for details As regards the first kind of solutions adopted in the new Logos we find an increased voltage of anodic polarization of the valves in order to optimize the working point of the same and obtain greater linearity and thus a general improvement of the sound in particular an increase of the consistency and definition. Stabilized power supply for preamp valve and a more accurate collocation of electrolytic capacitors throughout the signal path (and in particular close to each mosfet) allow to have a valuable reserve of "quick energy" that while listening they mean...

Our take on the brand

Our interview with the brand
What are two key technological innovations or strong opinions that differ you from other brands?
Pathos stands out for two fundamental elements that represent our identity: technological innovation and design philosophy.
The first is INPOL, our exclusive patented technology: a hybrid circuit that combines the warmth and musicality of tubes with the strength and precision of MOSFETs. The tubes shape the sound in terms of amplitude, offering transparency and naturalness, while the MOSFETs provide the current needed to drive the speakers, working in pure Class A, without distortion or feedback. The result is a dynamic, detailed sound that is incredibly faithful to the original. With the evolution of DOUBLE INPOL, this philosophy reaches higher power and even more refined performance, while maintaining the sonic character that defines us.
The second is our choice to remain true to the essence of sound and the true meaning of “Made in Italy.” Every one of our products is designed and built in-house at our facility in Vicenza: from the electronics to the processing of aluminum and wood, to the painting, every phase is closely overseen by our team with artisanal care and obsessive attention to detail. We don’t just build amplifiers: we create unique objects, designed for those who seek an authentic, thrilling listening experience, without compromise, where beauty, technique, and passion coexist in perfect balance.
What's your approach to customer support?
In general, the ideal procedure is for the end user to contact their retailer or local distributor, who are always the first points of reference. However, it often happens that customers reach out to us directly: depending on the situation, I either direct them to our partner or assist them personally.
What truly matters to us is that the customer feels listened to and taken care of. That’s why, even remotely, I often personally handle support cases: not due to a lack of trust in our distributors – with whom we have excellent relationships – but to show that every customer is important to us. We know that our amplifiers have a value that goes beyond the cost: they represent a passion, a conscious choice, often a dream come true. And those who own them have every right to feel in good hands.

Pathos
What if you spend more?
InPol Heritage represents the projectual legacy of the late Pathos co-founder, designer and inventor of InPol, Engineer Giani Borinato. The team of Pathos technical designers pushed themselves to the very highest level with this unprecedented project; an enormous amount of time was spent with this product, which is characterised by components of the highest quality and the customary absence of compromises.
The digital bias/gain set technology with intelligent control is entrusted to the same microprocessor which regulates the volume, thus guaranteeing the performance of the amplifier itself and its ability to drive the loudspeakers effeciently. Thanks to the optional HiDac Mk2 converter, music lovers who want the very best from the latest digital sources will find their demands fully met.
With the experience of the new InPoL2 MkII and the InPoL Legacy, we modified the InPoL Heritage consequently. The power supply section doubled, therefore the amplifier is dual mono. We added one heat sink that increases the radiating surface and allows better placement of the MOSFETs. Thanks to these improvements, we got a better dynamic, most of all on the low frequencies, and we enhanced the power depending on the impedance. The power remains the same, and so does the aesthetic design. The unit is 14cm longer than the old one, and it is provided with new sealed VU meters and WBT speaker terminals.
Pure Class A InPoL (Inseguitore Pompa Lineare – Linear Pump Follower) is a system patented by Pathos Acoustics which has enjoyed great success and won many awards. Inpol devices have a special sonic personality obtainable only by means of this particular circuit design – fully balanced in Class A using a single solid state component in follower configuration, with high current gain and with voltage gain together. The valve amplifier amplifies the input signal voltage and InPol supplies the current to drive the loudspeakers without any further amplification. In this way the signal is entrusted to the valves and becomes a true copy of the original, with all the quality, purity and harmonic content of the original. This technology allows an increase in the theoretical output in pure Class A of between 25% and 50% together with a low output impedance which is fundamental for the damping factor, and further improved by the double InPol.
InPol Heritage is a fully-balanced pure Class A integrated amplifier using the latest generation double-InPol circuitry. Its generous 80-watts of InPol power will drive any type of loudspeaker between 4 and 8 Ohms, and create an incredible and emotionally-moving sound-stage. Thanks to the (optional) HiDac Mk2 board, InPoL Heritage will be able to receive all your music from your PC by USB or from a digital source by S/PDIF.

- Offers a truly stunning recreation of varied and complex voices with sustain
- Offers a kind of sparkling vitality imparted to the sound of strings, horns, pianos, and other real things that makes them come alive once they leave the speaker
Product Considerations
- A big and heavy amplifier, requiring extra care and equipment to move around—176 lbs
Comparisons (according to reviewers)
- Vs soulution 331: The soulution 331 delivers better low-end grip and slam and excels at recreating a dimensional sound image, making the Pathos feel less spacious and airy
- Vs Luxman L-505Z: The Luxman L-505Z offers a very muscular sound with a bit more brute authority down low compared to the Pathos, but it doesn't have its purity or harmonic richness

Our take on the brand
Kratos' name directly comes from its most important feature: power. In Greek mythology, indeed, Kratos was the god of strength, might and power. Kratos is based on Pathos' hybrid circuit, with tubes pre-stage and Mosfet final stage; it has 200W for each channel. But that's not all. Kratos' pre-stage and final stage are clearly separated, with a prestigious pre-out and direct input to final stage; both pre-out and final stages are balanced XLR .
Warm, deep, dynamic sound Its preamplification circuit is in pure class A; it uses Tung-Sol ECC803s tubes: sound is warm, deep, dynamic. Final Mosfet stage in class AB is strongly polarized in class A; its great power both at 8 and 4 Ohms makes Kratos able to drive any loudspeaker. Kratos is also headphone amplifier with a dedicated circuitry (2 W @ 32 Ω).
Design is inspired by Logos, the great Pathos' historic product. But this is a simple aesthetic affinity: similarities stops here. Kratos hides new technical solutions which make it the leading-edge-product between non-InPol amplifiers.
Kratos' basic features (5 RCA, 2 balanced XLR, digital display, remote-controlled functions) could be improved by a DAC (optional). Thanks to the optional DAC module featuring the HiDac Mk2 board, Kratos will be able to receive all your music from your PC by USB or from a digital source by S/PDIF.
Product Strengths
- Sounds outstanding, often out-performing many considerably more expensive designs
- Full of energy and intensity on almost everything
- Drives difficult speakers with ease
- Has a headphone amplifier capable of delivering a very healthy 2W at 32Ω
- Fills the room with sound
Product Considerations
- Buttons with no information and a silver remote with no legend make the amp less user-friendly
- The lovely-looking heatsinks—the language is less Art Deco, more Modern Primitive
- There is a touch of forwardness, which might make some equally forward-sounding designs a little too forward
- The headphone socket could even do with balanced output for more up-scale headphones
Takeaway: The Kratos is powerful and refined and can drive almost any headphone. If one is willing to put in a bit of effort to learn the controls, the Kratos might be a great addition to their home.
