QR Series
- Positioning: The entry-level range, designed to offer high-quality sound at a more accessible price point.
- Description: Uses an AMT tweeter with a gold-plated dispersion mesh, which provides a smooth and detailed high-frequency response, distinguishing it from the more advanced AMT tweeters used in the R Series. Additionally, features a compact design with a focus on delivering a balanced sound profile, making it ideal for smaller spaces compared to the larger and more powerful R Series.
R Series
- Positioning: The high-end traditional tower offering, providing a step up in performance and technology from the QR Series.
- Description: Uses advanced technologies like the Freedom Grounding Concept and SEC Air Motion Transformer, which enhance sound clarity and reduce distortion compared to the QR SE Series. This series also offers a modular upgrade path, allowing users to enhance their speakers over time, a feature not available in the QR Series.
Trapeze
- Positioning: Represents Audiovector's high-end approach to a unique physical format—a revival of their 1979 classic "Trapeze."
- Description: Features a unique wide-baffle design and proprietary drivers, offering exceptional clarity and dynamic range that surpasses both the QR and R Series. Its diffraction absorbing felt area around the treble and midrange drivers helps to create a rare and natural soundstage.

What if you spend a bit more?

Based on our experience with stiff light and sound dead membranes in the SR-and R-series speakers, we have developed a new sandwich membrane, which combines the strength of Aero Space Grade Aluminum with the excellent inner damping properties of softer materials. The result is a 3 layer sandwich membrane with no sound of its own and very low distortion, because it performs like a pure piston up to and above its working range.
Our Summary
Product Strengths
- The Audiovector QR 7 SE loudspeakers opened a large, inviting, and well-balanced door into the music experience that was at once clear and precise, but not overly so
- Reproduces less than stellar sounding recordings due to their evenhanded and anything but shrill sound
- Offers a well-balanced blend of full range performance, delicacy, and detail presented with an inviting ease
- Offers full-range grip and drive with seemingly plenty of power in reserve
- Built to a high standard with soft, understated appeal
Product Considerations
- One can get more nuance, texture, and refinement from other speakers, but that means spending more money
- Criticisms are largely related to what they don't do as well as more costly alternatives, and decidedly not about faults of their own
Comparisons (according to reviewers)
- Vs GoldenEar T66: The GoldenEar are a bit more exciting, a bit more lively and certainly offer more deep and powerful bass, while the Audiovector strike one as sounding less lit up
Takeaway: The Audiovector QR 7 SE are an easy speaker to enjoy and recommend because of their fit and finish, as well as their performance. Their special sonic blend of full range performance, delicacy, and detail makes them welcoming to the moods and movements of whatever music is played

- Includes Uni-Core force-canceling woofers that reduce cabinet vibrations, contributing to balanced and detailed bass

- Some reviewers found the bass lacked definition in the upper bass, with unclear instrument placement, even after adjusting EQ settings
- The included remote control is considered basic or cheap

- Compared to the KEF LS50 Wireless II, the LS60 Wireless is preferred stylistically, achieves near full-range playback, and has a more slim design, although it costs more and also provides much deeper bass

- Articulate sound, especially in the upper midrange and treble regions.
- Very good imaging, with strong definition and delineation between instruments and performers.
- Vivid and clear midrange, revealing subtle details in recordings.
- Transparency ensures more of the music is heard as it was intended.
Product Considerations

- The tweeter can become too much if listening to poorly recorded music or at very high volumes.
- The bass can sound a bit thin, depending on room size and personal preference.
- Can sound a little bit cool when playing certain types of music.
Comparisons (according to reviewers)
- Vs KEF R11 Meta—KEFs presented more physical scale with respect to soundstage, with even greater width.
- Vs Polk R700 and Klipsch RP8000F Mk2—Not better than the B&Ws, but aren't embarrassed by them either.
- Vs B&W 805 D IV—In one listening room, the 703 is nearly as good.

Our take on the brand

Our Summary
Product Strengths
- Trickle-down technology from the 800 series narrows the gap with higher-end models
- Improved clarity of details, accuracy, and soundstage width compared to previous 702 models
- Clean and articulate bass is often attributed to the downward-firing port and plinth arrangement
- Excellent imaging and soundfield, with impressive width and height
- Delivers high definition and low coloration, offering a taste of the 800 Series experience
Product Considerations
- Careful positioning is required to achieve optimal tonal balance and musicality
- A reasonably powerful amplifier (minimum 75W recommended) is needed to perform at its best
- May not be a great match for valve amplifiers, preferring solid-state options
- The satin black MDF plinths are integral and require additional floor space
- Difficult to move around due to their weight (over 40 kg each) and lack of handholds
Comparisons (according to reviewers)
- Compared to the 702 S2 and 702 Signature, the S3 has improved clarity, accuracy, and soundstage width
- Compared to the Focal Aria 936 K2, the reviewer prefers the aesthetics of the 702 S3

- Balanced sound across the audible spectrum, reproducing each part beautifully without undue emphasis
- Smooth, creamy, extended, and airy high-frequency response thanks to a special tweeter that avoids sibilance or metallic ringing
- Textured midrange that plays cleanly with a palpable range of tonal colors, allowing listeners to fully engage with the performance
- Full-range bass performance, digging down deeply, providing plenty of bass for most listening environments
- Overall design shows quality at a very fundamental level
Product Considerations
- When swapping amps, the Pass Labs amp gave up a little in terms of overall tonal color and vibrancy, imparting a very slight graying to the midrange relative to either the First Watt F8 or SIT-3
- The original QR series had a slight 'rough around the edges' charm that is now smoothed out in the SE version, which some may have preferred
Comparisons (according to reviewers)
- Vs Original QR Series: The SE models have fuller and deeper—yet controlled and tight—bass, and smoother and cleaner treble that is less direct
- Vs QR1 SE and QR5 SE: The QR3 SE is the sweet spot in the range, with the QR1 SE having less bass and the QR5 SE having slightly more midrange clarity and even more bass

Our take on the brand

Our Summary
Product Strengths
- Remarkably coherent and balanced sound profile, resulting from well-engineered and matched drivers and cabinet
- An uncanny ability to 'disappear' in the listening room
- The DPC array design contributes to a wide horizontal dispersion, allowing a broader sweet spot for multiple listeners
- Accurate sound reproduction and neutral enough for studio use
- A high level of dynamic ability, good low-end control, and a cavernous soundstage
Product Considerations
- Only available in gloss black and gloss white finishes, which might not suit all tastes or home décor
- The price point is a significant investment, placing it beyond the reach of many
- Some reviewers noted a mild treble roll-off, or smooth character that was overly kind on poor recordings and might lack the sparkle and excitement some listeners prefer
- Setting up requires assistance, due to the weight
- The lower bass extension may not satisfy deep bass enthusiasts, with extension starting to drop below 40Hz
Comparisons (according to reviewers)
- Compared to the Perlisten S7t, the S7t offers more overall weight, bottom-end reach, resolution, and dynamic speed, but the R7t shines brightly on its own
- Compared to the EgglestonWorks Oso, the Oso presented a more muscular version of the music with more bottom end oomph, while the R7t conveyed music's finer points with more apparent resolution
- Compared to the KEF Reference 3, the KEF may yield deeper bass extension due to greater cabinet volume, and the scale of the soundstage may also be improved, but the Perlisten offers a superior disappearing act
Takeaway: The Perlisten R7t are well-built speakers that provide a detailed and immersive listening experience, with their advanced design and unique driver array creating a spacious soundstage. Their cutting-edge design creates a great listening experience.
