Olympia One Master 35
- Positioning: Entry-level floorstanding speaker reissued for accessible performance in smaller spaces.
- Description: Offers a compact two-driver design with moderate power and simplified connectivity, making it a practical choice for smaller rooms and budget-oriented systems. Compared to the more robust Ariane 9 and other premium models, it provides basic functionality without advanced low-end impact, ideal for users with modest budget and space needs.
Ariane 9
- Positioning: Mid-range floorstanding speaker aimed at larger listening rooms with balanced sound.
- Description: Features a four-driver configuration that enhances bass descent and refines high frequencies with a new tweeter, delivering a wide and realistic sound scene. Compared to the entry-level Olympia One Master 35, it offers improved dynamics, yet remains less complex than the Krypton 10 and Stellar.
Courbet N°8
- Positioning: Mid-to-high range three-way speaker designed for large rooms needing defined and musical sound reproduction.
- Description: Integrates a fabric dome tweeter, a midrange taken from a higher model, and a fast carbon woofer to achieve an extended bandwidth and clarity. In contrast with the simpler Ariane 9 and Olympia One Master 35, its advanced design serves users with higher technical expectations while still being more approachable than the top-tier Krypton 10 and Stellar.
Krypton 10
- Positioning: High-end speaker engineered for large living spaces with a focus on powerful and authoritative bass.
- Description: Uses dual 21 cm bass drivers in parallel with a laminar port to deliver strong low-end performance while preserving detailed midrange and treble. Compared to the mid-range Ariane 9 and Courbet N°8, it targets users seeking enhanced bass and robust sound performance, though it sits just below the flagship level of the Stellar series.
Stellar
- Positioning: Flagship floorstanding speaker crafted for the most demanding audio systems in expansive environments.
- Description: Uses a refined three-driver setup with premium materials for membranes, motors, and cabling to ensure precise detail and an expansive soundstage. While it outclasses the advanced features of the Krypton 10 and is pricier than the Ariane 9, Courbet N°8, and Olympia One Master 35, it represents the pinnacle of the lineup's technological capabilities.

The Courbet n° 7 is a 3-way speaker using 3 exceptional drivers, all three manufactured in our production site in Troyes (10-Aube); – the brand new tweeter with double decompression , – the Medium speaker of the Olympia one master (diapason d’or 2016), – a very fast and very defined 17 cm “Carbon” loudspeaker; custom designed to reach a general curve close to the straight line and without any complex! This Courbet n°7 will be able to fill large rooms with a level of definition and musicality very rarely found in a three-way speaker of this size, even at very high volume. The perfect measurements of its little sister (Courbet N°5) have not been put aside either: a little bigger, it remains very slender and futuristic all the way. The second big column of the range imposes itself by its balance, its speed, the density of its timbres, and a sense of swing which belongs only to it. Without a doubt, a new reference in its segment.
Our summary
Product Strengths
- Detailed and open sound with an extraordinarily clean and airy quality
- Excels in painting space into depth and width, which is one of its best characteristics
- Smooth transition between the drivers, with an impression of phase and frequency balance
- Midrange reproduction of piano, vocals, and string instruments is fantastic
Product Considerations
- Requires dedication and effort from the owner to get the highest possible return from the speakers in terms of sound quality
- Sensitive to speaker cables, room placement, and supporting electronics
- Bass area lacks the attack and slam expected from boxes of this size
- Requires high-quality amplification to reveal its softness and high transparency
Comparisons (according to reviewers)
- Vs Dynaudio X38: The Courbet No 7 is a little lighter in the upper part of the spectrum
- Vs Audiovector R3: The Courbet No 7 has a few lighter shades less
Takeaway: The Courbet No 7 is a speaker that performs well with all types of music and creates a detailed sound. It is a great choice for listeners who want a high-quality sound in a room of appropriate size and are willing to put in the effort to get the most out of it.

Our take on the brand
The COURBET N°5 speaker is the thinnest "floorstanding" of this series. It is characterized by the use of 3 drivers of 13 cm of diameter, which makes it possible to obtain an enclosure of 16 cm of width only, for a height of hardly one meter: a perfect proportion to be integrated easily in an interior.
But don't be fooled by its size, because it can compete with much larger models in terms of sound. This compactness is mainly due to the expertise of DAVIS ACOUSTICS, which was able to integrate suitable drive units in a reduced volume.
Associated with the best electronics of the market, the COURBET N°5 will transport you in the highest spheres of the High Fidelity. This thanks to the use of last generation loudspeakers, of which the innovative triple tweeter (TW28LD) which brings a level of precision and subtlety never reached in a dome tweeter at DAVIS Acoustics.
The other frequencies are not neglected, far from it. The presence of Kevlar (for the midrange) and carbon (for the woofers) ensures accurate and varied timbres. The low frequencies are even particularly tasty and nuanced.
Our summary
Product Strengths
- Good sound quality
- Slim tower design
- Kevlar midrange driver provides information in mid frequencies
Product Considerations
- Use of nothing bigger than 5' drivers to remain slim
- Matte white finish with wooden plinth is desirable
Takeaway: The Courbet N°5 is a nice-looking speaker designed for good sound, using driver technology. It's designed to be a slim and attractive tower.

Our take on the brand
Introducing the T Series The T66 is the first model in GoldenEar’s new T Series. While it boasts several significant refinements of our time-tested design concepts, the T66 is undeniably a GoldenEar loudspeaker, placing beautiful sound and music before all else. Honoring the Triton Series The T66 honors the critically acclaimed Triton Series, sharing a similarly tall, slender profile; built-in DSP-controlled subwoofer amplification; and a driver complement comprising GoldenEar’s High-Velocity Folded Ribbon AMT tweeter, cast-basket mid/bass units, quadratic planar radiators, and long-throw powered sub-bass section. Onward and Upward Several important cosmetic and sonic refinements distinguish the new T66 from previous GoldenEar speakers. These include a dramatically augmented crossover design, high-quality internal wiring, a new cast-aluminum base and metal grille, and, in addition to GoldenEar’s Gloss Black cabinet finish, a vibrant Santa Barbara Red.
Our summary
Product Strengths
- Excellent bass performance is a defining feature, providing tight, smooth, even, solid, and tangible bass extension into the 20 Hz range, eliminating placement issues associated with separate subwoofers
- Balanced overall sound, coherence, and ability to present music in a natural and effortless way is consistently praised
- High levels of detail come through with the High-Velocity Folded Ribbon AMT tweeter and cast-basket mid/bass units
- A holographic image over the seating area of a typical sofa is capable with excellent imaging and a wide and open soundstage, even when not seated in the exact sweet spot
- The Santa Barbara Red finish option receives high marks for its visual appeal
Product Considerations
- Still a significant investment, especially the Santa Barbara Red finish
- The metal grille covering the drivers is not designed to be easily removed
- Care should be taken with system matching, due to a slightly hot high-end
Comparisons (according to reviewers)
- The T66 offers more refinement and a more 'of-a-piece' sound than the Triton One.R
- Has internal structural improvements that make it even more stable and rigid than previous generations
Takeaway: The GoldenEar T66 delivers audiophile-grade sound and aesthetics, with powerful bass and exceptional detail. These speakers are easy to incorporate into nearly any environment, and have the power to let the listener appreciate all the nuances in favorite songs or movies.

- High efficiency of 93 dB makes it suitable for less high-powered tube amps
- Deep soundstage (within the range of what tower speakers with these dimensions can achieve)
Product Considerations
- The reviewer reserved a final verdict on the smoothness/softness of the midrange because the Western Electric amp wasn't fully warmed up

- Great value for the price, especially considering it's a column speaker
- Retains Davis Acoustics' signature sound
- Can be played at low and high volumes while maintaining a clean sound
Product Considerations
- Less rich in the midrange compared to the Olympia 3
- The blending of highs and mids isn't as good
- The bass might be slightly 'boomier' compared to the Olympia 3
- Less cone movement than the Olympia 3
- The woofer is lower to the ground, which may affect the bass due to reflections from the floor
Comparisons (according to reviewers)
- Vs Davis Acoustics Olympia 3: The Olympia 3 has better build quality
- Vs Davis Acoustics Olympia 3: The Olympia 3 has richer mids due to Kevlar—vs—fiberglass
- Vs Davis Acoustics Olympia 3: The Olympia 3 has better high frequency openness and a cleaner bass response

Our take on the brand
Our Summary
Product Strengths
- Fit and finish plus performance that is a bargain for around $3k/pair
- Gelcore cabinet construction minimizes unwanted sound energy from resonance and vibrations
- A tweeter that is hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated (floating) from the baffle provides lower distortion
- Size, weight, and richness of tone belies their size, with a wider baffle to each loudspeaker pointing at you
- A mild sound throws emphasis back to the midrange that in itself seems almost holographic, as well as deeply insightful in a gentle but revealing manner
Product Considerations
- A medium to large size room is required to shine, otherwise the bass will dominate
- Flaws in poor recordings can be revealed due to their detail and accuracy—warts and all performance
- The top-end is a little soft and gentle—classic BBC like—which may require amps with some zing to compensate
- Listeners seeking absolute detail or transparency might not be satisfied because of Q Acoustics' house sound that massages treble and plumps up bass and lower mid
- They don't go sub-40Hz deep, frequency response is rated at 42 Hz – 30 kHz (-6dB)
Takeaway: The Q Acoustics Concept 50 offers excellent value with its blend of innovative design and high-quality sound, making it a great choice for enjoying music with a sense of depth and engagement. The Concept 50s are easy to listen to and fun.

- Accurate reproduction, with precise tonal accuracy and fine spatial definition within the soundstage
- Superb build quality for the money, and they look more expensive than they are
- Easy to drive without requiring excessive power to perform to their best
- Soundstage width is better than the 3050i
Product Considerations

- Does not plumb the depths that some other floorstanders do
- Not designed for pokey rooms and cupboard-sized man caves, they need to breathe and require adequate space
- Some reviewers felt the build quality of the binding posts could be better
Comparisons (according to reviewers)
- The 5040 has a more neutral tonal balance with better-defined bass and exceptional clarity, while the 3050i delivers greater overall impact with its larger drivers and cabinet
Takeaway: The Q Acoustics 5040 is a well-built speaker that sounds great and looks modern, making it a good choice for those who want clarity and detail in their music, but system matching is important to avoid a bright presentation. These speakers are a strong statement in the right listening environment for the price.
