What's unique about the brand
BASIS is an American maker of turntables and tonearms, all still hand-built in the United States. The turntables are suspended to isolate them from outside vibration, with the goal that each one performs the same in any room. BASIS aims for a neutral, uncolored sound. The company has researched details down to the drive belt and the tuning weights on its Vector tonearm. Owners can add a vacuum system that clamps the record to the platter, along with a dedicated power supply and a record clamp.
