What's unique about the brand

Magico is one of the leading American hifi brands, celebrated for its speakers' precision, clarity, and transparency. This reputation is built on the founder’s meticulous focus on eliminating vibrations, a design principle that customers claim significantly enhances sound quality. Their speakers incorporate carbon fiber and aluminum, along with custom-made drivers, to deliver a highly transparent listening experience. Magico’s sound is incredibly revealing, though some listeners may find it unforgiving with poorly recorded material. These speakers are favored by reviewers and audiophiles who prioritize transparency and accuracy above all else.

What reviewers are saying

We read all the reviews. Here's what reviewers feel most strongly about:

  • Magico enclosures are primarily constructed of aluminum, using complex internal bracing to minimize resonances and provide a rigid mounting platform for the drivers.
  • The brand utilizes graphene-enhanced Nano-Tec cones in their midranges and woofers for a superior stiffness-to-weight ratio, contributing to exceptional clarity and detail.
  • Trickle-down technology from Magico's flagship M-Series informs the design of other models, making significant engineering accomplishments available at lower price points.
  • The company is known for its seamless blending of drivers and exceptionally wide sweet spot relative to other dynamic loudspeakers.

Our favorite reviewer quotes:

  • "The S1 Mk IIs did this more effectively than any other loudspeaker I've had in my listening room. In fact, I could readily distinguish among different Strads and different Guarneris with the Magicos, such was their degree of tonal and textural resolution." (https://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/magico-s1-mk-ii-loudspeaker)
  • "These may be the most detailed and coherent dynamic speakers I have reviewed. Magico's borderline fanatical obsession with controlling cabinet resonances and unwanted driver movement pays off with astonishing amounts of detail and clarity while maintaining musicality and without crossing over the line to being clinical." (https://hometheaterreview.com/magico-a3-floorstanding-speaker-reviewed)
  • "What the S3 did that no other speaker I've had in for audition has done was deliver degrees of bass texture, definition, and transient fidelity that I hadn't known existed. Magico is firmly in the camp of those who believe that a sealed alignment is the only way to get accurate bass, and given that I'd never heard such accurate bass as I heard from the S3, I can now only agree with them." (https://www.soundstageultra.com/index.php/equipment-menu/479-magico-s3-loudspeakers)
  • "Their overall clarity, a result of the elevated level of resolve that I touched upon earlier, and the supremely refined, heightened sense of expressiveness that it affords them, was irresistibly compelling, shining nuance and detail into every space and note of any recording they were asked to reconstruct. One of the more tangible experiences that I can share with you to give you a sense of just how clearly they eclipse the performance of other top-tier, flagship loudspeaker offerings, came in how they reacted – or more precisely, didn't react – to the regeneration of the infrasonic bass lines that permeate James Blake's popular Indie Electronic/Alternative hit, "Limit To Your Love."" (https://pt.audio/2023/07/14/the-magico-m9-experience-review)
  • "Though neutral in balance and still blessed with the ultra-high transparency, speed, and resolution that are Magico hallmarks, the M3 has the same strong taste of natural timbral warmth and sweetness from the bass through the treble that I've grown used to with the Pro. However, it does something else that even the Pro doesn't do to the same extent—the M3 pulls off a disappearing act that sets a new high for Magico multiways, and a soundstage of dimensions that set a new standard for me in all-dynamic floorstanders." (https://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/m3-loudspeaker-magico-makes-things-better)
  • "My jaw literally dropped when I listened to The Weavers at Carnegie Hall , a record that (God knows) I've heard heard a few times, as the seemingly vast reaches of Carnegie opened up behind the M3s with a width, depth, height, and volume unparalleled from a three-way cone loudspeaker. For once, Carnegie actually sounded like Carnegie." (https://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/m3-loudspeaker-magico-makes-things-better)

Their standout models, such as the Borg, feature carefully tuned passive radiators for seamless bass response.

Our interview with the brand

What are two key technological innovations or strong opinions that differ you from other brands?

We are working hard to reduce the negative influence of cabinet vibrations, but without the sledgehammer method. We have our own drive unit development team and our own woodshop to make cabinets, operated by a master carpenter. We are basically an engineering team with a lot of measurement equipment, working for the big industry, making the FinkTeam speaker because we can  and because this is our passion.

What's your approach to customer support?

Customers can contact us or the distributor, so we can find the best way to sort out problems. As a small company, we don’t need complicated formal procedures.

What are your favorite tracks for showcasing the strength of your products?

That’s a difficult one, as some tracks are what we call "limit tracks“ to find the balance of the speakers. But we have a few we like:

Toto, I will remember, Beyoncé, Blackbird, Malia & Blank, Magnetic Lies, Brina Bromberg, elephants on ice skates, John Lee Hooker with Van Morrison, The Waterfront.

What other products pair best with yours?

We like electronic from Soulnote, Japan and tube electronics from CANOR in Slovakia. Internally, we also use SPL Pro equipment and MATRIX for streamers.
