What reviewers think
Bloggers and YouTubers have tried this product—so we've summarized their strongest opinions below. Links to full reviews follow.
Product Strengths
- Headroom and dynamic capability deliver sound in an unrestricted way.
- Immense dimensionality to concert hall recordings creates an intimate and involving experience.
- The system reproduces the original recording space and unleashes its full potential in 2.0 stereo.
- The level of separation and musical authenticity was astonishing, especially in the reproduction of instruments like cymbals and cellos.
- Musical openness was enlightening, and music was placed under a magnifying glass.
Product Considerations
- May not perform as well with 'dirtier stuff' or modern EDM, potentially sounding a bit sterile and restricting the low end.
- The system needs a big room and space behind the speakers.
- Four people are needed to move one speaker.
- During loud drum bursts it can peak at 108dB which is way above normal listening levels and may be a boundary for the headroom available.
Takeaway: The Model is an amazing sounding system with a wonderfully sounding soundstage. It is a safe investment.

Select products
Steinway Sons Model A
- Positioning: Entry-level line, designed for affordability and compactness.
- Description: Features a straightforward digital design that offers clear sound reproduction ideal for small rooms and tight budgets. Compared to the more advanced products in the lineup, provides basic functionality without the extended processing capabilities seen in Models B, C, LS Concert, and D.
Steinway Sons Model B
- Positioning: Mid-tier option blending balanced costs with reliable performance.
- Description: Incorporates enhanced circuitry and improved soundstage technology that deliver a richer listening experience for medium-sized setups. When compared to Model A and the higher-end options, adds better digital control and expanded frequency response.
Steinway Sons Model C MK II
- Positioning: Mid-high product offering refined performance for dedicated enthusiasts.
- Description: Introduces an upgraded digital-to-analog conversion system and advanced processing that yield a more detailed and dynamic sound. Relative to Models A and B, its extended dynamic range and sound staging approach those seen in the top-tier LS Concert and Model D.
Steinway Sons LS Concert
- Positioning: High-end solution aimed at larger spaces and professional settings.
- Description: Offers cutting-edge audio processing and exceptional build quality that create an expansive sound field and precise imaging suitable for larger rooms and demanding setups. In contrast with the lower-tier systems, its enhanced connectivity and advanced digital performance set it apart, yet it is less feature-saturated than the flagship Model D.
Steinway Sons Model D
- Positioning: Flagship model representing the pinnacle of technology and performance.
- Description: Integrates groundbreaking digital circuitry and audio processing innovations to deliver ultra-precise sound reproduction with an exceptionally wide soundstage for professional-grade applications. While Model D outstrips the others in technological sophistication and connectivity, it is positioned at the highest price level, making it the top choice for users with premium budgets and the most demanding functionality needs.

The best is in the middle ("In medio stat virtus" the Romans used to say) so in normal size rooms, from 25sqm (250sqft) to 100sqm (1000sqft) we recommend our BOTTICELLI model.
The two panels size is quite classical: 0.64m (25″) wide and 1.77m (70″) height, with a total of 0.9sqm (10sqft) woofer surface on the two channels and weight of 115Kg (255lb) per channel. High sensitivity of 94dB makes possible to use virtually any amplifier.
It is possible to upgrade to Botticelli X or XX buying the two external passive crossovers using an exclusive topology and bigger/higher quality components, connecting cables between speaker and crossover are included. X external crossovers are 430x330x130mm each weight 25Kg including the transparent acrylic base, XX external crossovers are 680x450x130mm each weight 45Kg including the transparent acrylic base.
XX version is using even bigger and higher quality components and connecting cables compared to X version and the result is higher resolution and transparency, it is like upgradind the speakers by one or two levels.
Our summary

Our take on the brand
What competes at this price?
Our Summary
Product Strengths
- Plenty of deep, satisfying bass and detail, and could go quite loud, even with just 4.3 watts per channel
- One of the most beautiful speakers
- The construction quality and materials are without compromise
- Seamless from top to bottom, which shouldn't be a surprise for full range drivers
- The dispersion characteristics aren't that unusual, the speakers sounded superb from anywhere in the room
Product Considerations
- The distance from the front wall is important because it determines the wavelengths that are reinforced in the room, so experimentation is useful
- The reflectivity of the front wall surface behind the speaker is important
Takeaway: The Songer Audio S2 loudspeakers have great bass and detail and can play loudly, also they are beautiful speakers. The S2 is special because it sounds good everywhere in the room.
