  • They have a comprehensive ecosystem with various models serving different needs (streaming bridge, DAC, CD ripper, server)—including Roon and Qobuz integration.
  • Aurender implements robust power solutions, using separate linear power supplies for critical components and supercapacitor-based UPS systems to protect against power loss.
  • The Conductor app provides robust remote technical support, allowing Aurender to remotely access and diagnose/fix issues for its users.

Our interview with the brand

What are two key technological innovations or strong opinions that differ you from other brands?

All Aurender models, even dating back to our very first "S10", cache songs to a built in NVMe/SSD prior to playback, for improve stability and to reduce noise from the HDD, even when local storage is installed.

All Aurender models come with either built in storage or empty trays for users to populate their own 2.5" SATA drives in capacities that suite their collection. You only have 200 CD's that are ripped? Purchase a 1TB drive. Have 20,000 album collection, you can install up to an 8TB drive in each available slot!

What's your approach to customer support?

Our support is one of the driving factors for our brand. One of the keystones of this is our remote support capabilities. By sending us an email using our Conductor V4 software (for Android and Apple phones and tablets), we can remotely access the unit and troubleshoot, reconfigure or fix errors that are giving you trouble...without even taking the unit out of your rack! This level of support comes from our hardware and software engineers based in South Korea. This is available for every Aurender customer, whether you just purchased our flagship streamer or you purchased an 8 year old Aurender N100 on the second-hand market. We give this level of service to everyone. I personally offer advice, consultations and troubleshooting assistance for North America, so you can get hands on assistance when Korea is unavailable due to the time difference.

What are your favorite tracks for showcasing the strength of your products?

I have a hard time offering test tracks because everyone's music tastes vary so much. My personal tastes are not considered "audiophile" music and often poorly recorded, such as Punk, Hardcore, Emo and Alternative Music. Now with that said, I thoroughly enjoy listening to all this music through my Aurender! Speakers also play a huge role in how palatable that style of music is presented. If you twisted my arm to pick a test track that resonates with a lot of people, I'd say: Sara Bareilles-"Once Upon Another Time". It's a very intimate recording with a candle wick crackling throughout. Subtle noises in the background and then the bass hits and you realize how big the venue actually is. Every time I play that track, people get a bit of the "Wow" factor.

What other products pair best with yours?

Brand pairings are often user preference and one of the best parts of the hobby, in my opinion. I hear that Aurender is often paired with Berkeley Audio Design, MSB, Audio Research, dCS, just to name a few. The best part of an Aurender is it really gets you all the detail out of your DAC, so you can hear what it is truly capable of.

Our interview with the brand

What are two key technological innovations or strong opinions that differ you from other brands?

I think that the reason people responded to this amplifier, even though we're a young and unknown company, was the design aesthetic and the combination of tubes and Class D, which had been done before, but in my opinion, the things I’ve heard weren’t successful.

The tube preamp could have not been active; you wouldn’t have known the difference. For us, it actually makes a difference, and it adds a lot to the Class D sound signature.

And, you know, because it's a tube preamp and not a tube amplifier, you're getting the best of both worlds. Most of the tube sound comes from the preamp stage, not the amplification stage.

So we're still getting that tube sound, but we’re not getting all the problems that come with a Class A tube amp.

And we're getting much better bass performance than you would ever get from a tube amp, because usually tube amps are typically not that great for bass performance. Our tube + Class D hybrid is more than just the sum of its parts —it introduces a new sound, and that’s what people are really responding to. And of course, I’d be remiss not to mention the design. I spent a lot of time refining the aesthetic: getting the proportions right, like the knob size hierarchy, the orientation of the source LEDs so they don’t shine in your eyes, even the way the tubes ‘wink’ when a remote command is registered. These are the details that give the object personality and create an emotional link between machine and human. Without that, you might as well just get a pair of powered speakers. Who has space for another generic soulless black box collecting dust? Perhaps I'm exaggerating to make a point, but there's just too much thoughtless design out there.

What's your approach to customer support?

We have a 5-year warranty on parts and labor for the amps. Usually, a good 60 or 70% of the support questions I get, I can fix for people through email. If we can’t fix it remotely, then we ask customers to send their product to our engineer, and if there’s anything that needs to be done, they’ll take care of it. We then ship it back.

We usually offer the option to use our discounted shipping, but shipping is not included for repairs.

We’re a direct-to-consumer company, so it makes sense for us to offer this kind of support model. If we were mostly working on a dealer-distributor kind of paradigm, it would be too many SKUs.

That’s also why we’re able to offer a 30-day trial period, so people can try it out with their system and see whether they like it or not.

What are your favorite tracks for showcasing the strength of your products?

I have quite a few, actually. Meet Me in the Morning by Bob Dylan.

These days, my favorite track to use is called Arpegiator. It's from The Concerts in China by Jean Michel Jarre. It's quite an old track from the early '80s, but it still sounds pretty amazing because it has tons of bass, mid-bass, and a bit of high-end, and it keeps panning from left to right, so you get the transients.

And if I want to torture my system, I listen to Aretha Franklin. If your wires or speaker wires struggle or anything, you’ll hear it with Aretha Franklin. When she belts out, it’s not supposed to sound glassy or shiny.

Another torture track I use is The Party’s Over by Wynton Marsalis because that has screechy trumpet solos, and if there’s any problem with your system, you’re gonna hear it.

What other products pair best with yours?

There’s a lot of gear from other brands that I like to pair my amps with.

I know that a lot of customers use the Buchardt S400, now the E50. I was so sick of hearing them rave about the S400 that I actually went out and bought a pair for myself to see what the hype was all about. The S400, for their size, are pretty amazing.

In the legacy speaker brands, another that is small and very impressive are the Falcons LS3/5A. I kept hearing about them and I just heard them recently, and they blew me away.

If we’re talking full-size, then Pure Audio Project Trio 10s. I love the dipole sound, and this is a dipole speaker that actually has kick; it actually has bass. You don’t need a sub with it.

  • They are known for enhancing the focus, clarity and openness of sound in general, with a signature effect of providing improved transparency, bass response, and stereo imaging in supported equipment.

Our interview with the brand

What are two key technological innovations or strong opinions that differ you from other brands?

We take a fundamentally different approach to isolation than many traditional solutions. For decades, spikes were the industry norm, based on the idea of coupling the speaker directly to the floor. But in practice, this creates a rigid path that allows energy to reflect and resonate, leading to a loss of clarity.

Our patented isolation technology changes that. One of the biggest differences is how the energy travels—or more specifically, how we manage it. With some isolation feet, the metal housing itself contacts the floor, allowing vibrations to pass through regardless of what’s inside of the housing. The IsoAcoustics design is different: only the lower isolator makes contact with the supporting surface. The internal isolators are carefully tuned for the speaker’s weight, and the upper section connects directly to the speaker or component. This design forms a controlled energy path where internal reflections are minimized and vibrations are decoupled in both directions.

The result isn’t just reduced vibration, it’s greater spatial clarity, openness in the soundstage, and tighter low-end definition. We’ve also proven the performance through testing at the National Research Council (NRC) in Canada and through extensive blind listening tests.

We also believe strongly in the importance of directionality and alignment. Our products are designed to perform best when properly oriented, aligning with the energy of the loudspeaker. That attention to detail is a key part of what sets IsoAcoustics apart.

What's your approach to customer support?

At IsoAcoustics, customer support is a top priority and something we take a great deal of pride in. Whether you're a first-time buyer, a long-time user, or just curious about compatibility, we want the experience to be as smooth and helpful as possible. Customers are welcome to reach out to their local dealer or distributor for support, but they’re also encouraged to contact us directly at [email protected].

We typically respond within 24 hours, and our team is happy to answer questions ranging from product selection and installation to more technical inquiries. If a customer encounters an issue with one of our products, we see it as an opportunity to help, not just to resolve a concern but to gain feedback that could inform future improvements. We go above and beyond by offering hands-on assistance with compatibility questions (even digging into specific speaker or component models and configurations), sending replacement parts quickly when needed, and making sure each customer gets the full benefit of our technology. Our goal is not just to solve problems but to create a great experience.

What are your favorite tracks for showcasing the strength of your products?

Fields of Gold” – Sting

This track is a beautiful example of musical subtlety. The warmth of Sting’s voice and the gentle acoustic instrumentation can easily become clouded by resonance or vibration. With IsoAcoustics isolation in place, listeners notice a remarkable improvement in vocal clarity and instrument separation, with each element more precisely placed in the soundstage. The acoustic guitar becomes crisper and the background more spacious—making the song feel more intimate and emotionally resonant.

Birds” – Dominique Fils-Aimé

This stunning vocal track is rich in tone and atmosphere. Dominique’s voice floats effortlessly over minimal instrumentation, making it an excellent piece to highlight the way IsoAcoustics products control internal reflections and remove smear. You’ll hear greater definition in her breath and phrasing, and a deeper sense of space between the layers of sound. It’s the kind of performance that truly shines with enhanced transparency.

No Moon at All” – Diana Krall

A jazz standard with a sultry, live-in-the-room feel, this track is perfect for showcasing how our isolators elevate microdynamics and timing. With IsoAcoustics in the system, Diana Krall’s piano notes sound more articulate, her vocals are more natural and lifelike, and the subtle swing of the rhythm section becomes tighter and more engaging. The result is a listening experience that feels closer to a front-row seat in an intimate jazz club.

Our interview with the brand

What are two key technological innovations or strong opinions that differ you from other brands?

We do not see merit in claiming technical innovations when the science has been known and understood for the two centuries since Faraday, Ohm, Maxwell, Hertz, Henry, et al. defined the behavioral patterns of electricity and magnetism and their interactions. Even exotic-sounding "modern" dielectric materials advancements and conductor voltage treatments, etc., can be traced back well over half a century ago.

Our approach to product design is to apply clear logic, establishing the broad spectrum of aims for the product, then evaluating and evolving practices that achieve these aims.

This is accomplished firstly within the fundamental design as evolved by measured performance, but from there on, the product is shaped and evolved through massive sequences of listening tests over a very wide selection of HiFi setups of different technologies and ambition. Listening to how each design decision actually sounds as affected by the enclosure dimensions and materials, the board layout, component values and their technology, materials, etc. Establishing how every individual aspect influences the final sound of the overall design. It is a long and painstaking process from which there is no escaping if you wish to present a world-class product.

What's your approach to customer support?

We only distribute through specialist outlets with the required skills to guide and assist customers with their purchase and answer normal technical questions relating to usage of our products. In the event that the questions are more uniquely complex, we are always on hand to take over the conversation. Our products are inherently robust and designed for many decades of use. We always stand by our products, with happy users our topmost priority.

What are your favorite tracks for showcasing the strength of your products?

This is ever-changing, but to note is that for older material in a digital medium, the earliest versions before the compression of the loudness wars took hold are almost invariably the best. For 60s, 70s, and 80s music on vinyl, seek out older pressings produced with an all-analogue master tape to cutting head sequence with no digital process stages in between. If there is a digital stage employed, as with virtually all vinyl of recent decades, including "audiophile" pressings, you are better off listening to the digital version directly.

Today's choice of three would probably be:

  • Joan Armatrading – Me Myself I – AMLH64809 – Dynamics, vocal positioning in the soundstage, and overall imaging
  • Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto – Kyung-Wha Chung, LSO – Previn Decca SXL 6493 – Handling of a large orchestra at full belt and the tonal realism in the solo violin passages
  • Fleetwood Mac – Tusk K66088 – "Beautiful Child" – Vocals, soundstage, imaging, clarity, realism, and separation of the individual contributions

What other products pair best with yours?

We need to ensure that our products interface well across the broadest spectrum of components, and we have, for example, in our development room over 20 different amplifiers from Pass Labs Monoblocs, through Krell, Naim, Meridian, Cyrus, Quad, Leak, Sugden, World Audio, Enleum, as well as many speakers and source components.
